Ellen Halverson is a full-service agent who goes the extra mile, whether you are facing a design challenge or questioning what today’s market conditions means for you, she never neglects a client. For nearly two decades Ellen has been consistently recognized as a top producer, ranking among the top 10% of real estate agents. Looking back, she was being groomed for a career in real estate all her life.
Having been raised an “army brat” with extensive travel across the Eastern US and Europe, she learned quickly how to navigate unfamiliar territory, and honed a knack for conversation. “This life, I believe, gives us the ability to adapt easily and quickly to new situations and people. I actually love that, and am very social since I am used to meeting new people all the time and get energized by the experience – all characteristics that are essential to a successful career in real estate.”
A natural people person, Ellen is known for making anyone feel comfortable in her presence, and is an incredible listener. “My priority is to put clients at ease and earn their trust completely,” she says. Her hands-on approach affords unrivaled service and expert knowledge that can’t be beat. Case in point, a challenging sale in the Pacific Palisades for a longtime client that proved to be more than she bargained for.
“It was a family-owned property out of my typical market with the added responsibility of handling all aspects of remodeling and repair. Although it was a great deal of fun for myself and the co-listing agent, it became even more complex, as a former sister-in-law occupied the house. These sort of situations appeal to me greatly,” she says, adding that “The property was listed for $3,200,000 and we sold it in record time for $2,800,000. A great accomplishment for us both, but the best part was the client’s appreciation of our work in his testimonial.”
“It was a difficult sale for many reasons and I very much appreciate your diligence and professionalism. I also realize that you took care of numerous construction details for me. The 6% was well worth it,” raved the client. Such stories demonstrate the type of agent Ellen is – a true problem solver, who finds creative solutions to maximize returns and minimize client bother. She stays on top of what’s happening in the market by following local trends and statistics, and is unafraid to dig deeper or call in the pros to get the answers her clients deserve.
Her strong work ethic stems from a background as a “fitting” model for Don Loper of Pan Am Airlines fame, and her role as a legal secretary at 20th Century Fox Studios to the Senior Vice President and General Counsel. She previously held a position at KADY TV before obtaining her real estate license in 1999.
Currently Ellen lives in the Ventura Keys, a waterfront and beach community prized for its small town feel and friendly atmosphere, where she can often be found enjoying her morning walk on the beach. She strongly believes in giving back and has a love of animals that led her to volunteer and donate to organizations such as C.A.R.L, a local group-Canine Adoption and Rescue League, as well as the ASPCA, and Hope for Paws.
Her caring nature also extends to her large family, which at any given time can include numerous children, two dogs, and a cat. When she’s not out handling real estate, she is taking care of other people’s dogs, and loves doing it! Other passions include cooking, reading, and crunching the numbers on Ventura residential sales.
